Introduction

This document describes how to do the installation, configuration and Provisioning of Connected Views Hospitality for ALBIS set-up-box (STB), Samsung Hospitality TV and LG Pro:Centric Hospitality TV.

All this process takes around 10 minutes depending on the systems performance and for the Samsung Smart TV and LG Smart TV, only needs to be done one time and then it’s possible to clone all the settings to an USB FLASH DRIVE, and export to other Smart TV.

Samsung Smart TV – Hospitality Models

1.1  Pre-requirements

For Samsung Smart TVs the configuration and installation needs the following requirements:

  • Samsung Series 690H and 590H (any model);

  • Internet Connection by Ethernet Cable.

  • Power Supply

  • USB Flash drive

1.2  Getting Started

Let’s start the installation process. First make sure that you have your Samsung Smart TV connected to a power supply and that your Ethernet cable is connected to the Ethernet port. Following the next steps should result in a clean installation.

First Power On

  • On the Samsung Tv remote, press “Power”, to do the first start.

  • After Initialization, the “Easy Set Up” menu will appear. Select "Standalone only" and then press “Next”.

First installation

  • With the Samsung Tv power off, press the “INFO” + ”MENU” + “MUTE” + “POWER”, in sequence;

  • The “Service Menu” will appear;

  • On the “Service Menu” select “Control”;

  • After selected “Control”, select “Hotel Option”;

  • Change the Hospitality Mode to Standalone;

  • Select Widget menu and change the following fields:

    • Widget Mode: ON

    • Solution Type: H.Browser

    • Server URL Setting: http://tvproxy.gotvee.com/index.html 

    • Press “Done” when you enter all the above url;

    • Go back to the Hotel Menu, pressing Back/Return twice

    • On the Hotel Menu, check the Network configuration to make sure that the correct network type is selected. Normally you should select and activate the cable network and check if you have a valid and working IP ADDRESS.

    • To finish, power down your TV to save any change’s you made.

Note: If you have a USB Stick with the correct setup for Samsung Models, please jump to chapter: “2.3 Clone Settings” and follow the steps in “USB to TV” to copy the settings over to your TV.

1.2.1  Instalation on Tizen OS

First installation

  • With the Samsung Tv power off, press the “INFO” + ”MENU” + “MUTE” + “POWER”, in sequence;

  • The “Service Menu” will appear;

  • On the “Service Menu” select “Control”;

  • After selected “Control”, select “Hotel Option”;

  • Change the H. Browser Mode to ON;

  • Select Install Web App menu and change the following fields:

    • Server URL Setting: http://tvproxy.gotvee.com/tizen/

    • Press “Done” when you enter all the above url;

    • After the app is successfully installed, go back to the Hotel Menu, pressing Back/Return twice

    • On the Hotel Menu, check the Network configuration to make sure that the correct network type is selected. Normally you should select and activate the cable network and check if you have a valid and working IP ADDRESS.

    • To finish, power down your TV to save any change’s you made.

Note: If you have a USB Stick with the correct setup for Samsung Models, please jump to chapter: “2.3 Clone Settings” and follow the steps in “USB to TV” to copy the settings over to your TV.

1.3  Clone Settings

After doing a Clean Installation in your first Samsung Tv, you need a USB FLASH DRIVE without any content, so you can clone the Settings and export them to all your Samsung Tv’s (Series 690H and 590H).

Tv to USB

  • Power Down your Samsung Tv, and plugin your USB FLASH DRIVE to the USB port;

  • Go to the “Service Menu” (press the “INFO” + ”MENU” + “MUTE” + “POWER”, in sequence);

  • Select “Control”;

  • Go to “Hotel Option”;

  • In “Hotel Option”, select Cloning;

  • Chose “Clone Tv to USB” and wait until the cloning is done.

  • Power Down your Samsung Tv to save any change’s you made.

USB to Tv

  • Power Down your Samsung Tv, and plugin your USB FLASH DRIVE to the USB port;

  • Go to the “Service Menu” (press the “INFO” + ”MENU” + “MUTE” + “POWER”, in sequence);

  • Select “Control”;

  • Go to “Hotel Option”;

  • In “Hotel Option”, select Cloning;

  • Chose “Clone USB to Tv” and wait until the cloning is done.

  • The Samsung Tv will restart automatically with the right configurations.

1.4  Factory Reset

If for any chance you have made a mistake or your Samsung Tv have some type of problem with the firmware component, you can make a Factory Reset and after that repeat the First Installation Steps.

Reset

  • Power down your Samsung Tv, then, press the “INFO” + ”MENU” + “MUTE” + “POWER”, in sequence, or with the Samsung Tv powered off.

  • The “Service Menu” will appear;

  • Select “Option” menu;

  • Select "Factory Reset" and wait for the reset to end;

  • After the reset finished, Power Down your Samsung Tv and then repeat the “First Installation” steps.

Reset on TIZEN ON

  • Power down your Samsung Tv, then, press the “INFO” + ”MENU” + “MUTE” + “POWER”, in sequence, or with the Samsung Tv powered, you can press “SOURCE” + “MUTE” + “119” + “ENTER”.

  • The “Service Menu” will appear;

  • Select “Options” menu;

  • Select Factory Reset and wait for the reset to end;

  • After the reset finished, repeat the “First Installation” steps or USB to TV steps.

LG Pro:Centric – Hospitality Models

1.1  Pre-requirements

For LG Smart TVs the configuration and installation needs the following requirements:

  • LG model 42LY750H;

  • Firmware Version v03.23.00.01;

  • Internet Connection by Ethernet Cable.

  • Power Supply

  • USB Flash drive

1.2  Getting Started

Let’s start the installation process. First make sure that you have your LG Tv connected to a power supply and your Ethernet cable is connected to the Ethernet port. Following the next steps should result in a clean installation.

First Power On

  • On the LG Tv remote, press “Power”, to do the first start.

  • After Initialization, the “EZ-Manager Wizard” menu will appear. Select "Next" repeatedly ;

  • Select “Manual Pro:Centric”;

  • In “Manual Pro:Centric” Menu, select:

    • Pro:Centric Mode: HTML;

    • Media Type: IP;

    • IP Address: 212.113.190.57

    • Port: 80

    • Press “Next”;

    • After above configuration, press “Settings” until a grey number appears on the top left screen, then press “1105” + “Ok”;

    • The “EZ-MANAGER” Menu appears, open the “Lg Hotel Mode Setup”;

      • Select

        • Hotel Mode Operation: Yes;

        • OSD Display: No;

        • Power On Default: Yes;

          • Default Input Source: AV (or other source not connected) [1]

          • Power off the LG TV and it’s Done.

First installation

  • With the LG Tv powered On, press the press “Settings” until a grey bar appears on the top screen, then press “1105” + “Ok”;

    • (Alternate) With the LG STB (Hospitality Box) powered On, press the press “Settings” until a grey bar appears on the top screen, then press “1105” + "Exit" + “Ok”;

  • The “EZ-MANAGER” Menu appears, open the “Lg Hotel Mode Setup”;

    • Select

      • Hotel Mode Operation: Yes;

      • OSD Display: No;

      • Power On Default: Yes;

        • Default Input Source: AV (or other source not connected)[2]

        • On the “EZ-MANAGER” select “Pro:Centric”;

        • On “Pro:Centric” Menu, select the following settings:

          • Mode: “HTML”;

          • Media Type: “IP”;

          • P:C IP Setting(IP a): 212;

          • P:C IP Setting(IP b): 113;

          • P:C IP Setting(IP c): 190;

          • P:C IP Setting(IP d): 57;

          • P:C IP Setting(IP Port): 80;

          • RECEIVE DATA: Enable.

          •  Power off the LG TV and it’s Done.

Note: Please double check if the IP ADDRESS above is the correct one before burning the configuration into all the installed TVs.

Note: If you have a USB Stick with the correct setup for Samsung Models, please jump to chapter: “3.3 Clone Settings” and follow the steps in “USB to TV” to copy the settings over to your TV.

1.3  Clone Settings

After doing a Clean Installation in your first LG Tv, you need a USB FLASH DRIVE without any content, so you can clone the Settings and export them to all your LG Tv’s.

Tv to USB

  • Power Down your LG Tv, and plugin your USB FLASH DRIVE to the USB port;

  • Power Up your LG Tv;

  • Go to the “EZ-MANAGER” (press the press “Settings” until a grey bar appears on the top screen, then press “1105” + “Ok”);

  • Select “USB Cloning”;

  • Select “Send to USB”;

  • Select the Name;

  • Press “OK”;

  • Wait until it’s Done.

USB to Tv

  • Power Down your LG Tv, and plugin your USB FLASH DRIVE to the USB port;

  • Power Up your LG Tv;

  • Go to the “EZ-MANAGER” (press the press “Settings” until a grey bar appears on the top screen, then press “1105” + “Ok”);

  • Select “USB Cloning”;

  • Select “Receive from USB”;

  • Select .tll file;

  • Press “OK”;

  • Wait until LG Tv full restart.

  • It’s Done.

1.4  Factory Reset

If for any chance you have made a mistake or your LG Tv have some type of problem with the firmware component, you can make a Factory Reset and after that repeat the First Installation Steps.

Reset

  • With the LG Tv powered On, press the press “Settings” until a grey bar appears on the top screen, then press “1105” + “Ok”; or

  • With the LG STB (Hospitality Box) powered On, press the press “Settings” until a grey bar appears on the top screen, then press “1105” + "Exit" + “Ok”;

  • The “EZ-Manager” menu will appear;

  • Select “LG Hotel Mode” menu;

  • Select “LG Hotel Mode”: ON;

  • Scroll to the last option inside “LG Hotel Mode”

  • Select “Factory Reset”;

  • Select YES and wait until Reset is done.



[1] This step will prevent the television from falling back to the last TV channel during the boot time and instead it will present a black screen (or the input on the selected default source).

STB Hospitality

Pre-requirements

For Albis STB the configuration and installation needs the following requirements:

  • ALBIS (STB) model 8083

  • Internet Connection by Ethernet Cable

  • Power supply

  • For the ALBIS STB is needed Tv with HDMI

Connecting Albis STB

Power Supply

Plug the AC/DC power supply into the wall outlet and connect the power cable to the STB power jack.

Ethernet Connection

Connect the Ethernet cable to the STB RJ-45 connecter with the description “LAN”.

TV connection

Connect the HDMI™ cable to the HDMI™ sockets on your STB and HDTV 

Power Supply

Plug the AC/DC power supply into the wall outlet and connect the power cable to the STB power jack.

Ethernet Connection

Connect the Ethernet cable to the STB RJ-45 connecter with the description “LAN”.

TV connection

Connect the HDMI™ cable to the HDMI™ sockets on your STB and HDTV

Power up for the first time

After the 4.3 Connecting Albis STB is done, Power up your TV and make chore that the selected source in the TV is the same as the STB (If you plugged the HDMI cable to the HDMI socket nº1 the TV must be in the source HDMI 1).

The STB initialization process is visible in the Operation Mode Indicator, the process takes around 15 seconds.

Software update

If a new software version is available in the system, the STB Start process will take a little more time.

During the software update, the Operation Mode Indicator will show the above behavior:

Warning: Do not cut the power supply to the Albis STB during the Software Update, this may cause a malfunction and permanently damage the STB.

Troubleshooting

The Operation Mode Indicator is off

  • Make sure that the AC/DC power supply is connected correctly to the wall outlet

  • Make sure that the power supply cable is correctly connected to the STB

  • Make sure that the power supply being used is the correct one

  • The STB or Smart TV can’t get IP_ADDR from the LAN, verify the DHCP Server.

  • Verify if the Ethernet Cable are firmly connected or if the Ethernet is in the desired LAN network.

  • Check if the TV and the STB are connected to the power supply and turned on

  • Verify if the HDMI or the CVBS cable are connected properly

  • Make sure that the TV is in the corrected SOURCE

The STB or Smart TV show the message “Cannot access time server” or “Please check that all the cables are firmly connected”
